All Signs
This week Mars moves into Libra. It does this every two years and stays for six weeks. (Mars was in Libra Dec. 2000, Nov. 2002, Oct. 2004, Oct. 2006, Sept. 2008, Sept. 2010 and Aug. 2012.) But this is different. Now Mars returns to Libra, not for its usual six weeks, but for eight months! Holy Octavus! For some, this will be challenging because Mars represents energy. And in astrology, wherever Mars lines up in your chart tells me where a lot of action will suddenly take place. Read on to see how it will affect you. This will help you prepare for the future, even though we know the future isn't what it used to be.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Mars will be opposite your sign for the next eight months and you will notice this. Some won't feel it until next month, but at some point in the next eight months, you will be challenged by partnerships and close friendships. There will be tension, in part because you feel impatient with others. Some of you will have to deal with enemies. However, the upside is if you have been compromising too much in a relationship, this will end. "I'm not going to take this anymore!" Another upside is that there is lots of energy for you to join forces with someone and work with them in a professional capacity or a personal way. It's all energy.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You are a hard-working sign if you like what you do. This long stretch of Mars for eight months (see All Signs above) is going to energize you in terms of work and getting things done. You'll find it easy to work hard in the month ahead, in part because you will take pride in what you accomplish. Plus you love the energy to work hard (that's half the battle). Mind you, you will be keen to be a team player. You want the credit, remember? Try to choose something that you will be identified with. Some of you will be just as keen to adopt a rigorous physical regimen to boost your health. You mean business.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Lucky Gemini! This eight-month journey of Mars will activate the part of your chart that governs all the fun stuff. "Yay me!" For starters, it will energize your creative talents and your involvement with the arts plus give you opportunities to express them. You will be keen to do this and just as keen to enjoy the creative works of others. Sports will be hyped the next eight months, as will vacations, playful getaways and social diversions. Parties, romance, love affairs, fun dates and hot sex will be charged with energy. (Particularly physical lovemaking.) You will feel less like work and more like play. But you will have to be more patient with your kids. Oh well.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
This eight-month stretch of Mars will stir things up on the home front for you. Expect residential moves, renovations, redecorating projects and increased activity and chaos where you live. One reason could be that relatives or guests come to stay and they don't leave. (Agghh.) Disputes among family members will be likely because all this energy bouncing around will create distractions and a sense of busyness. Those of you living with your parents will find life more challenging. On the other hand, the only way one develops patience is by feeling annoyed. You could say the next eight months are a wonderful opportunity to develop tolerance.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Good news for Leos because this eight-month stretch of Mars will stimulate your physical vitality and motivate you to work hard and accomplish a lot. This is your chance to show others what you can do whether you work alone or in groups. Your self-confidence will be strong and your ability to debate and convince will be spectacular. (This is no small thing because you are already persuasive.) One of the reasons you will be this way is you identify with your beliefs and ideas. Do not try to coerce others into agreeing with you. But if you need to sell, market, write, act or teach - you'll be laughing all the way to the bank. No one will be able to resist you.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Your chart looks like a pizza cut into 12 uneven pieces. When Mars sits in one of those pieces for the next eight months, it shows me where things will be stirred up! In your case, it's going to be all about money, cash flow, earnings and the stuff you own, which, incidentally, includes your self-image. This is no laughing matter (unless you look funny). Since Mars is a shot of energy (POW!), it means you will be willing to work hard for what you want and ready to spend money as well because you identify with your possessions. ("This is mine. That's mine, too.") You might have disputes about what you own. Try to see the difference between who you are and what you own - they're not the same thing. (Except in Hollywood.)
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Well, an eight-month stretch of Mars in your sign? First and foremost this will give you energy, which will translate into lots of activity in your life. You will work hard and play hard because you finally have a chance to show the world what you can do. You'll be more aggressive, more energetic and much more of a fighter for your rights. If attacked, you will defend yourself. Be careful that you don't come on too strong to others. Be aware of yourself and your assertive style of relating. Increased physical exercise will benefit you and give you a feeling of great satisfaction and personal reward. "I yam what I yam."
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Before Pluto was discovered in 1930, Mars was the ruler of Scorpio, which means this strong energy is no stranger to you. However, this eight-month journey of Mars will take place in a hidden part of your chart, which means you will be more involved in hidden activities, secret trysts, private love affairs and perhaps something clandestine. (Well, no surprise there because many of you work in law enforcement and medicine.) It will be a time of discovering secrets about yourself and others. But it will also be a time when hidden enemies and those who do not have your best interests at heart might have more power. Hey - life is short; always hang out with people who love you.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Your physical vitality will be dynamic and strong for the next eight months because Mars will boost your energy big time! It will also boost your self-confidence and make you even more forthright than you usually are, which is saying a lot. (Sagittarius always tells it like it is.) Now you will take time to formulate your goals and actively pursue them. Quite likely, you will see that working with others is the path to achieving what you want. This means you have to co-ordinate your efforts with theirs and vice versa. Expect some competition from someone. Increased physical activity with groups is also likely, especially competitive sports. You rock!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You will be more ambitious than you've been in decades because fiery Mars will be at the top of your chart for the next eight months revving your engines and fueling your desire to go after what you want. Yowzers! By nature, you are ambitious because you intend to "be" someone. Prepare to work hard for the next eight months on some kind of project. You will want your own independent authority and you will want to be your own boss. If you do work for others, this could create problems! Don't encourage these conflicts unless something important is at stake. Mars is a feisty, fighting energy - something to be respected. Use it internally like a drive or a force. Not externally.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This eight-month sojourn of Mars means you'll be more involved in creative intellectual work than usual. You will certainly explore new ideas, concepts, religions and political points of view. You might be excited about a particular discipline or ideology and try to get others to agree with you. Basically, you're going to put a lot of energy into expanding your mind through travel and education. Some of you might be involved with legal battles - tread carefully here. Others might find themselves in competition (or a dispute) with someone from another culture or a different country. This will be an exciting journey for you!
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
In the next eight months, your sexual energies will be highly charged. This bodes well for those involved in romantic relationships. In fact, you might expect a lot from a partner in this regard. (Just remember they take their pants off one leg at a time just like you.) However, most of you will also encounter a powerful person who challenges you about something important. It could be values that differ from yours. Or it could be a dispute about shared property, insurance matters, inheritances, taxes or debt. Ultimately, you might be forced to re-evaluate your position on things. An old order is passing away to create room for something new.
