What Will 2019 Bring?
Last year I predicted "sexual secrets will continue, along with scandals about the media, universities, the church and foreign countries. (Russia springs to mind.)"
This year the big change for 2019 is the shift of Uranus into Taurus. The last time Uranus was in Taurus was from 1935 to 1942.
Uranus challenges rigid structures. It fights power and tyranny on behalf of the everyday person. Uranus is the energy behind unions, Green Peace and Amnesty International. Its rallying cry is "the greatest good for the greatest number!" Uranus represents technology, computers, the sky, aviation, air waves and the radio.
For the last seven years, Uranus was in fiery Aries. an independent "ME" sign. Consider how the "Selfie" society exploded in that time! Aries is also militant, hence the #metoo movement with its overnight groundswell.
But Uranus in Taurus will be very different: Taurus is tangible. It is Earth, the ground, the source of food. It is the sign of domesticated animals; and it rules money, wealth and banks. It is conservative. It values time-tested tradition.
New rules regarding banking will be introduced this year and in the next seven years. Revolutionary ideas will impact food production. There will be increased "sharing" of goods - shared housing, shared cars, shared gardens, shared jobs.
My advice is to protect what you have. Take care of what you own. Be financially prudent. Solidify your finances and get out of debt.
Meanwhile, for the first time in 12 years, lucky Jupiter will dazzle because it is back in its own sign! This will benefit travel, education, publishing, the media and give everyone increased hope! (Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent.)
Hello Libra!
You're easy on the eyes. You have a soft, almost bovine gaze. You dress well - always colour coordinated. You like leisured coziness, pleasant surroundings, a good table at a nice restaurant, scintillating conversation, politics, music, fine carpets, warm friends, gorgeous fabrics, candles, fresh-cut flowers and champagne. You love to decorate a room. You have a fine legal mind, and although you're an excellent debater, you hate fighting. You prefer to please. Some think you are superficial because you know what colour is "in." I mean, really? (Of course, Millennial pink is so done.)
A Backwards Glance
After busting your buns, you received some recognition around 1997-98. (Testimony to the fact that hard work pays off.) That was also a playful, fun-loving time. Around 2001, you acted on your urge to travel, hopefully, to enjoy gorgeous museums and wonderful restaurants in inspired settings.
By 2002, your reputation began to shine and by 2003-04, you arrived at a major time of achievement in your life. Your accomplishments were obvious. (Some of you even surprised yourself.) This was roughly when you entered a new 12-year cycle of growth. It was all coming together for you!
By 2006, you had a chance to boost your earnings; however, from 2009- 2011, you began to downsize and dismantle much of what you had created since 1996. It was time. Around 2009, romance was strong and you enjoyed vacations and fun getaways. This was also roughly when you started off on a new path to reinvent yourself, a process that is still going on for the next few years. ("What does one wear to a midlife crisis?")
Some powerful changes transpired around 2013; nevertheless, travel was rewarding because it gave you opportunities to see new places and expand your horizons. By 2014, your reputation was solid in the eyes of others. People were impressed! Around 2015-16, you entered a two-year window of job changes and residential moves. It was a time of shifting landscapes and uncertainty. By 2018, your focus was clearer and you were able to boost your earnings, which is good news for you because you like to buy beautiful things. (Money is only useful if you spend it!)
What Will 2019 Be Like?

This year there are challenging and favourable aspects to your job, career and public life. Let's go with the bad news first: The challenging aspects are to do with authority figures because you might find that bosses, employers, government officials and older partners are not receptive to your suggestions. They might block your efforts. This does not mean you have to throw in the towel. It means this might not be the year to push aggressively. Do not withdraw from the confrontation but do not fight for the sake of fighting. And certainly, do not try to save something that isn't worth saving. This is what you have to know. Be patient and make sure that you are on the right course. This is not a time of defeat; it's a time of trial.
But lo! What news from yonder modem breaks? Fortunately, a different planetary influence is also at play and it brings good news! This influence will help your life flow easily. With very little effort, you will move in the direction you want to go. By contrast to the petty despots who thwart you, this influence will help you grow and boost your optimism! It might even mean some bosses and VIPs will endorse you -- the secret is to find out who they are. While the first influence urges you to tread water, this second influence urges you to "think big!" It's also a favourable influence for financial transactions. So what do we make of this? Quite likely, the favourable influence will be the overriding theme of your year. Nevertheless, it's important to know that you will be blocked by some authority figures at times.
One of the winning traits for this year will be your own positive frame of mind. Your attitude to the world around you will be more generous, understanding and tolerant; and more important, your plans for the future will be bigger, more expensive and more ambitious! Your professional communications will be upbeat and you will be able to make money from communications and travel.
Time for a recap: You were professionally strong around 2003-2005. After giving up a lot, you set out on a new path around 2010. In the last few years, you experienced some loss. However, last year and this year, are times of pivotal change. From this point on, you are slowly working toward your future success. Expect a major pat on the back around 2025. The point is that you are headed toward a win - so keep going. Trust in your good future!
Relationships
Ever since 2012, your closest relationships and partnerships have been tumultuous and unpredictable. At times, they have been thrilling and exciting; however, at other times, you have been annoyed and easily angered or frustrated with someone. This is because wild, wacky Uranus has been opposite your sign for the last seven years. Oy! For many, this signaled that a relationship ended. It created hidden pressures that might have affected your health. The good news is that as of 2019, this influence moves on. Yay!! You are in the clear for the rest of your life. ("Is that champagne still in the fridge?")
Admittedly, relations with someone who is like a teacher or a guru-like figure might be difficult. If you're in a relationship where someone's authority is too frustrating, you might want to leave or cut loose.
Basically, in the coming year, you will be optimistic, hopeful and in a positive frame of mind. You will be more tolerant with everyone, which promotes greater success in all your daily relationships. Your communications with others will be better; in part because you will be more forthcoming, more frank and more willing to share who you are with others both as a teaching device and as an opportunity to bond.
Existing relationships will improve and new romance is always possible. Always.
Home and Family
Your relations with a parent or an authority figure in the family will be tested this year. (They were also tested last year!) This does not mean that life is going to hell in a hand basket - au contraire! It means you will not easily get your way with an authority figure in the family. But in the long run, your positive outlook and positive attitude will make you a winner! Patience is the key. Anything you've been putting up with in the past will have to be dealt with now. You can no longer put it off. This is a reality check. ("Hmmm, I smell the coffee.")
Expect to tackle major repairs to your home because what you want to do this year is solidify your home base as well as cement family bonds. You want to feel you have a secure refuge that you can count on. This is excellent. You also want your family to be secure.
Now is the time to build and repair what needs to be done because, you are laying the foundation of your future in terms of your physical home and also your "inner house" (within yourself) plus your close relations with family members.
Protect your health this year. Don't push yourself too hard. Be good to yourself and enjoy little getaways and fun leisure.
2019 Monthly Highlights
January
The area that you will devote a lot of energy to this year demands your full attention in January and that is family. No question. Personally, you might want to cocoon at home more than usual and rest. By all means, if you can swing this, do so! Happily, you will attract money to you this month. You will also spend on beautiful things. It's a hard-working month for you because you have energy and drive, which is one more reason you need to grab some time to cocoon at home. Your optimism about your daily world and about your future is strong!
February
This is a playful month! Sports events, love affairs, vacations, mini-getaways, fun activities with children plus an increased interest in the arts, the theatre, movies and film - all of these will be a source of pleasure for you because the theme of this month is fun and good times! Admittedly, fiery Mars is opposite your sign, which means you have to be patient with partners and close friends. And of course, with Saturn at the bottom of your chart, you can never ignore family responsibilities, not this year. You can also make money from your words this month, which is good news for those who market, sell, teach, act or write. You will also have a greater appreciation of your everyday surroundings and appreciate the warm affection from daily encounters with others.
March
This month you're gung ho to work and be productive. In fact, you will take more of a hands-on approach to everything you do. You will also excel at mental work because you will pay great attention to detail. You want to achieve the best technique available for doing something. Thankfully, it will be easy to get along with employers, employees and coworkers this month. However, caution against criticizing others. (Ya think?) Expect to entertain at home more, which is why you will enjoy some redecorating projects. ("Do these cushions help or hinder? Are they too busy?")
April
You need more sleep this month because you are getting less energy from the Sun (according to your chart). Fortunately, things at work are going well. You are still ready to roll up your sleeves and be hands-on on the job as well as tackle mental tasks that require mental focus Relations with coworkers are smooth. Quite likely, someone will approach you to ask for your advice, especially as a personal counsellor. Your upbeat attitude, which you will maintain all year, will attract this sort of thing. Travel appeals. You might also explore opportunities in medicine, the law, publishing and the media.
May
Hmmm, this is an intense month. You will have to deal with shared property, inheritances plus the wealth and responsibilities for others or for their property. It's also a good time to talk to financial institutions. Meanwhile, Venus opposite your sign paves the way for all your relations with others, while Mars continues to boost your desire to travel and do something different. (Yeah!) This is a good time to mend broken fences and reach across to someone if the relationship has been a bit testy. You can create a meaningful bridge.
June
Shake up your routine this month because you want to do something different. You want to explore the world! You want to travel! You want adventure! This is good; in fact, this is healthy. Fortunately, gifts, goodies, favours from others and even cold, hard cash will come to you from another source. This might be an inheritance or it might be an indirect benefit through your partner. Naturally, you will act on something to broaden your world because your ambition is aroused this month; furthermore, you are talking to bosses and important people. (Meanwhile, back in the boudoir, sex is hot!)

You make a fabulous impression on everyone this month, especially bosses, VIPs and parents and the police - in other words, anyone in a position of authority and power. This happens almost magically and you won't have to do anything special. Venus at the top of your chart paves the way for smooth communications with authority types. Obviously, this is the month to make your pitch! Do whatever you can to advance your agenda. Relations with a boss might become cozy. You will also enjoy hanging out with younger people this month.

Although you are still in a position to be talking to important people, this month your primary thrust is socializing with others. It's a popular month, especially with creative, artistic people. You might also be involved with groups in an athletic or competitive way. Many of you will be active in groups and associations in a professional capacity or because you are a member. This month is a complete contrast to last month. Now you want to hunker down and cocoon at home or hide somewhere because you are want to keep a low profile and stay in the background. ("Send out for dark chocolate!") In fact, much of your activity will be secret or private. Some of you might be involved in a secret love affair. It is however, an excellent time to do research or study something that requires attention to detail. This is your most low profile month of the year.
October
It's your birthday month and the Sun is in your sign boosting your energy and giving you a chance to attract people to you as well as favourable circumstances. Mars in your sign makes you aggressive, forthright and competitive. Fortunately, Venus masks some of this aggression, which means people don't even see you coming. (Gotcha!) Yes, it's a powerful time for you regarding your activities and your negotiations with others. You're full of moneymaking ideas this month. Take note that this is a good month to buy wardrobe items for yourself. You like to look good.
November
Now your attention is on money, cash flow and ways to boost your income. Mars is still in your sign making you aggressive and forthright. (It would be a good idea to get some physical exercise to give yourself a chance to blow off any pent-up steam that might be building up within you.) This is a wonderful month to negotiate - business, the arts and personal affairs. Your words are smooth, in fact, you can make money from your words. You're in a positive frame of mind, in part because you are appreciating the beauty of your surroundings and you are always happy when your surroundings are beautiful. You also feel loved.
December
The pace of your days will accelerate now because you're busy! You have appointments, meetings, conversations and plans, as well as the fact that you are reading, writing and studying more than usual. You will also take short trips. Finances are a major focus now because you're working hard to make money and you're also spending it. Fortunately you have moneymaking ideas! Many of you will be redecorating at home for the holiday season. You will also entertain at home this month - something you enjoy doing. It's a strong time.
A Peek Beyond 2019
You will be delighted to know that next year you have the best chance in over a decade to improve where you live. What fun! Many of you will buy beautiful furniture and art, which makes your home more elegant. You will certainly feel more affluent and happy to be in your home. Or you might redecorate or renovate. (This could be a major project.) Some of you will move to something bigger and better. This applies to whether or not you buy or sell a home or you rent something bigger - the result will be the same. Likewise, you can make money from real estate next year. This profit might come about through a personal real-estate transaction or real-estate speculation.
The year 2021 promises fun vacations and romance! Start planning for that vacation now. In the following year, you can improve your job, or get a better job, and likewise you will improve your health.
The year 2023 is fabulous for relationships and close friendships; in fact, it's the best year in over a decade for Librans to get married!
In 2025, travel, publishing, the media, higher education, medicine and the law are blessed. And in the following year, you will dazzle everyone with your reputation and your success!

Mercury Retrograde in 2019
Mercury retrograde occurs three times a year. This is when Mercury appears to go backwards in relation to planet Earth. (In reality Mercury always moves forward.) During these so-called retrograde times, the areas that Mercury has domain over inexplicably suffer from errors and delays. These errors are small but frustrating!
Mercury has domain over everything that moves forward:
- All forms of ground transportation, (cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, buses, taxis, trains)
- The mail, parcels, packages (Post Office plus Courier and Delivery Services)
- Communications - email, social media, phone calls, conversations
- It also includes daily living (the people we encounter, the items we deal with, the transactions we make and how we relate to others.)
During Mercury retrograde, all the areas under the domain of Mercury tend to go "backwards." (They certainly have trouble going forwards!) Expect transportation delays, missed buses and car breakdowns. Mail will be delayed or lost. Daily items like keys and papers will be misplaced. Communications with others will be confused and misunderstood. People from our past will pop up into our lives.

However, we can make good use of Mercury retrograde times to finish things, study the past, do research and reflect. But do not open a business or begin new projects. Mercury retrograde is also a bad time to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.
The dates below are the actual retrograde dates plus the buffer times. This is because Mercury starts to slow down before it goes retrograde. Then afterwards, it needs more time to catch up to where it was at when it first went retrograde.
The craziness (delays and errors) is most pronounced during the actual retrograde time. However, if you are buying a big ticket item like a car or a computer, I recommend that you play it safe and avoid these purchases during the buffer times as well. You'll be glad you did.
