What Will 2019 Bring?
Last year I predicted "sexual secrets will continue, along with scandals about the media, universities, the church and foreign countries. (Russia springs to mind.)"
This year the big change for 2019 is the shift of Uranus into Taurus. The last time Uranus was in Taurus was from 1935 to 1942.
Uranus challenges rigid structures. It fights power and tyranny on behalf of the everyday person. Uranus is the energy behind unions, Green Peace and Amnesty International. Its rallying cry is "the greatest good for the greatest number!" Uranus represents technology, computers, the sky, aviation, air waves and the radio.
For the last seven years, Uranus was in fiery Aries. an independent "ME" sign. Consider how the "Selfie" society exploded in that time! Aries is also militant, hence the #metoo movement with its overnight groundswell.
But Uranus in Taurus will be very different: Taurus is tangible. It is Earth, the ground, the source of food. It is the sign of domesticated animals; and it rules money, wealth and banks. It is conservative. It values time-tested tradition.
New rules regarding banking will be introduced this year and in the next seven years. Revolutionary ideas will impact food production. There will be increased "sharing" of goods - shared housing, shared cars, shared gardens, shared jobs.
My advice is to protect what you have. Take care of what you own. Be financially prudent. Solidify your finances and get out of debt.
Meanwhile, for the first time in 12 years, lucky Jupiter will dazzle because it is back in its own sign! This will benefit travel, education, publishing, the media and give everyone increased hope! (Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent.)

You're a perfectionist who can move mountains. You do not shrink from challenges and hard work; but you do enjoy the badge of success. You keep score and you want the respect of your peers. A Backwards Glance
Back around 1989-90, you set off on a new path to reinvent yourself by 1996. (Think of who you were in 1987 and compare this to 1997 - big change!) Around 1997, many of you boosted your earnings, which helped secure your home or do big repairs. You were ambitious to improve your home scene in 1999, when you might also have expanded your family.
Early in the millennium, you improved your job along with your health. You continued to bust your buns to prove who you were to the world until in 2004, when you finally got recognition for your efforts. At that time, many of you took an extended vacation or travelled. Others explored further education and training.
By 2005, your reputation was solid. People were impressed with your achievements! However, your time of harvest really began around 2009 with increased earnings and recognition for our efforts, In 2011, you began to reap the benefits of the seeds you had planted since 1996. This is when you saw what was working in your life and what was not. This applied to both your professional life as well as your committed partnerships.
Around 2012 (give or take a year) many of you took a fabulous vacation. Despite this, around 2013, you were able to improve your job even more! In part, this was because your ambition was aroused in 2014 due to the fact that fiery Mars was at the top of your chart for almost 8 months.
In 2015, many of you got a loan or mortgage from a bank. Some received an inheritance because wealth tended to come to you from other sources at that time. Changes began to take place around 2016, when you began to dismantle much of what you had created since 2003. This was when you started to downsize, let go and say goodbye to people, places and possessions. All of this was to prepare you for last year (and to a lesser degree this year) when you were starting a whole new path in your life. What's next?
What Will 2019 Be Like?
Money and Career
More than any other sign in the zodiac you have been undergoing an amazing transformation. Around 2015, you began to let go of many things. At that time, it might have felt like loss; but in truth, you were culling the things from your life that made it necessary for you to enter a new path in 2018.
Two strong influences are at play now that are reshaping your personality. The first began in 2008 when Pluto entered your sign. This is something you have never experienced before in your life and will never experience again after it leaves at the end of 2023. Some of you might have lost weight or given up something that was holding you back. (This is classic.) Pluto tends to encourage obsessive behavior, compulsions and at times, irrational decisions. However, Pluto always "wants" a superior result, which is why many of you are on a "make-over" plan, whether consciously or not.
The other influence is your own ruler Saturn, which is also now in your sign for the first time since 1989-90. Saturn is the clue that you will reinvent yourself from 2018 to 2026. Meanwhile, concurrent with this, Pluto has likewise been reshaping who you are since 2008. This is a powerful combination! (Unusual to occur together at the same time.) One influence ends in four years; while the second influence ends in seven years.
This means that regardless of your age, these are the years that will shape you and give your future meaning. Admittedly, Pluto makes you want to control everything and everyone around you, but essentially, your aim is to try to improve your life. You want to improve yourself. You want to improve others. You want to improve your environment. You want it all!
A lovely boost in this direction takes place at the end of this year in December, 2019 when lucky Jupiter enters your sign to stay for a year. This is a tremendous blessing! Jupiter will not return to your sign again until 2032, so you want to start to plan for and anticipate this good fortune in 2020. Jupiter will help you and make your life flow more easily.
Meanwhile, the combined influence of Pluto and Saturn has been grooming you to make wise decisions. Now more than ever, you know what is not worth pursuing. Now more than ever, you know what is really valuable. This is wisdom.
Do not shrink from your impulse to examine who you really are this year. Once you learn what you really want, you will go after it and you will succeed.
Relationships
In some ways, relationships are on hold this year. This is because the most important relationship you are having is with yourself. By that I do not mean that you are self-absorbed in an egocentric way. But rather, you have the courage to look inward while everyone around you continues to look outward. Because you are in this serious frame of mind, you will be attracted to serious committed relationships. Some of you will be attracted to someone of an age difference, because you are comfortable with this. More than any other sign, Capricorn is often in a May-December partnership.
However, your serious attitude and your determination to improve yourself and the world around you will change dramatically in December when Jupiter enters your sign. At the end of this year, you will suddenly become super outgoing! You will want to expand your world, especially through relationships with other people who are different from the kind of people you have been relating to in the last decade. They might be from another culture, another country or simply be different in your eyes.
Because you are in the process of reinventing yourself at a deep level, you need to attract people who are willing to accept the ongoing change taking place in your life. These people have to be willing to accompany you on your adventure and your ongoing exploration, because your future is going to be very different from your past!
Home and Family
Home and family mean a great deal to you because you are a traditionalist when it comes to family values. You want the security and the refuge of family in your life. To undergo these changes and to accept the loss and transition you experienced between 2015 and 2018, you had to be strong. You had the courageous to march forward.
This year you can live with the reassurance that when Jupiter enters your sign in December, it will boost your joy in your everyday surroundings. It will make your life easier! You will feel warm, happy and rewarded in your personal life and your family relationships. Jupiter will increase your self-confidence and poise and serve you well! It will attract the resources that you need in your life to feel secure.
Keep in mind that you might entertain a residential move in four to five years because your aim will be to solidify your home base at that time. It is good to know this ahead of time because you are a planner. You don't leave things to chance. You make them happen.

January
You are the only sign that begins each year with vigour and vitality. Why? That's because January is your month! The Sun is in your sign attracting important people to you along with favourable circumstances. This is a subtle advantage that you always enjoy throughout your entire life. Be grateful for this. Your private life and your home environment might be hectic this month because of residential moves, renovations, redecorating projects or visiting guests. Fortunately, Venus paves the way for warm relations with friends and members of groups.
February
This month you will focus on money, cash flow and earnings, without question. Take note that this is the perfect month to buy wardrobe items for yourself because you will get a good value and will likely purchase things that you enjoy wearing. Tension on the home front continues due to an erratic situation that creates increased activity and commotion. Be patient with family members. Meanwhile, you can come up with clever moneymaking ideas this month! Do not worry about aches and pains with your joints because these will diminish as the year wears on. So will the feeling that you're getting old. This is because Saturn is in your sign this year, when it moves on in 2020, you'll feel younger again! Weird but true.
March
This is a fast-paced, busy month because you have a full agenda! You're making appointments, talking to everyone, spending increased time with siblings, relatives and neighbours plus many of you are taking short trips as well as reading, writing and studying more than usual. Fortunately, you will attract money to you this month! Admittedly, you will also spend money on beautiful things for yourself and loved ones. Quite likely yo,u will spend money on vacations, sports events, socializing, playful outings as well as romance, romance, romance!
April
You are gung ho to work hard this month because you want to show others what you can do. In fact, you will work so hard, you might be a tad bossy, delegating work to others. Nevertheless, you will achieve a lot and this will please you. Meanwhile, much of your focus will be on your private life this month. You might be more involved with a parent. You might choose to hide at home so that you can cocoon among familiar surroundings in order to regenerate yourself. This is a good month for writing and studying as well as teaching, acting, marketing and sales because you can make money from your words. You will also appreciate your daily surroundings more this month. It will be self-evident to you how fortunate you are.
May
Yay! It's your month to party! Many of you will take a vacation this month. You will enjoy socializing with others along with attending sports events. You might be more involved than usual with children's activities. You will be keen to grab any opportunity to express your creative talents, especially working with your hands. Meanwhile, you are still working hard at your job (and yes, delegating). Many of you will enjoy redecorating your home and inviting guests over to entertain and show them what you have done. You like doing things in a classy, memorable way, and you are an impeccable host!
June
Because many of you partied and enjoyed a vacation last month, now is the time to get back in the harness and work hard. Note: Capricorns who were born later in January will actually take a vacation this month and get back to work next month! (It's all timing based on mathematics and the day you were born.) Despite your focus on work and achievement this month, fair Venus still wants you to party! Venus also promotes romance, social situations and the love of the arts. Meanwhile, fiery Mars is opposite your sign this month, which means you have to be more tolerant and patient with partners and close friends (who seem so annoying). You can do this. No sign is better than you at demonstrating grace under pressure. (You invented sang-froid.)
July
This is the only month all year when the Sun is opposite your sign, which means that symbolically, it is as far away from you as it gets all year. Since the Sun represents your energy, you will be more tired. Therefore, respect your need for more rest and get more sleep. Fortunately, Venus is also opposite your sign greasing the wheels for all your relations with others, including members of the general public. People will enjoy being in your company. Actually, some people will really enjoy it because your sex drive is amped! At the least, expect a summer romance.
August
This is an intense month. You feel passionately about all issues, including sex. Money from other sources will come to you, which means this is a good time to ask for a loan or a mortgage. Some of you might also inherit. However, there might also be disputes about shared property or disagreements about inheritances or how to divide something. Be careful. Mercury is opposite your sign encouraging lively discussions with others. Plus you will attract talkative people to you. Oh yes!

Do try to travel this month because you will adore it! You're hungry for adventure and you need a change of scenery. If you cannot travel, then explore your own city or your own backyard because you need to shake things up a little. You want to feel stimulated and more alive! Glory hallelujah! This is a powerful month! This month the Sun is at the top of your chart casting you in a flattering spotlight that makes you look fabulous in the eyes of others. They think you walk on water. Ironically, you don't even have to do anything special to create this strong impression. Obviously, this is the month to act! Make your pitch and advance your agenda. Venus will help you by paving your way with bosses and VIPs. In fact, a romance with a boss or someone in a position of authority might begin for some. Meanwhile others will enjoy hanging out with younger people and exploring membership in classes, gyms, clubs and associations.
November
A popular month! Everyone wants to see your face. (Aren't you glad you bought those clothes earlier in the year? Let's hope they work for this season.) Enjoy socializing with others, especially with groups. Younger people want to know your opinion about things. Ironically, your exchange with someone younger might prompt you to modify your future goals. Meanwhile, your ambition is aroused this month, which is why you are willing to go that extra mile to achieve what you want to do. (Some of you are involved in a secret love affair.)
December
This is a lovely month to buy wardrobe goodies. It's important to feel that you are well dressed because you value the respect of others. Mark Twain said, "Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence in society." You will also be physically active with groups and friends this month. Possibly in a competitive way? You continue to be involved with younger people. The main theme of this month however, is quite different. Because your birthday is approaching, this means your personal year is ending, which means this is the ideal month to withdraw from the busyness around you so that you can contemplate your life. Look back over your shoulder. How well are you doing at the art of living? What do you want your new year to be all about? Give some thought to this in December. Write down some goals.
A Peek Beyond 2019
The year 2020 be a marvellous year for you because lucky Jupiter will be in your sign boosting your confidence and your self poise and attracting good fortune to you! You will get to know yourself even more deeply, and you will feel more secure about who you are and the impression that you make upon others. It will be a fortunate time for you in personal terms and your relations with others will turn out to your advantage.
In 2021, you will earn more money! You will become richer either because of earnings or an increase to your assets in general. The year 2023 is wonderful to explore real-estate opportunities or to move to bigger and better digs.

Mercury Retrograde in 2019
Mercury retrograde occurs three times a year. This is when Mercury appears to go backwards in relation to planet Earth. (In reality Mercury always moves forward.) During these so-called retrograde times, the areas that Mercury has domain over inexplicably suffer from errors and delays. These errors are small but frustrating!
Mercury has domain over everything that moves forward:
- All forms of ground transportation, (cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, buses, taxis, trains)
- The mail, parcels, packages (Post Office plus Courier and Delivery Services)
- Communications - email, social media, phone calls, conversations
- It also includes daily living (the people we encounter, the items we deal with, the transactions we make and how we relate to others.)
During Mercury retrograde, all the areas under the domain of Mercury tend to go "backwards." (They certainly have trouble going forwards!) Expect transportation delays, missed buses and car breakdowns. Mail will be delayed or lost. Daily items like keys and papers will be misplaced. Communications with others will be confused and misunderstood. People from our past will pop up into our lives.

However, we can make good use of Mercury retrograde times to finish things, study the past, do research and reflect. But do not open a business or begin new projects. Mercury retrograde is also a bad time to buy cars, trucks, bikes, computers, printers and phones.
The dates below are the actual retrograde dates plus the buffer times. This is because Mercury starts to slow down before it goes retrograde. Then afterwards, it needs more time to catch up to where it was at when it first went retrograde.
The craziness (delays and errors) is most pronounced during the actual retrograde time. However, if you are buying a big ticket item like a car or a computer, I recommend that you play it safe and avoid these purchases during the buffer times as well. You'll be glad you did.
