Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 3:30 AM until 6:30 AM EDT today. After that, the Moon moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Something to do with parents, bosses, teachers, VIPs or even the police will upset or interrupt your day today. Someone might say something that for you is just the last straw. ("That does it!") Nevertheless, don't quit your day job. Guard against knee-jerk reactions. Sleep on it.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Travel plans will likely be changed or delayed today. (You can almost count on it.) Ditto for plans related to higher education, media, publishing, medicine and the law. And you might meet someone who is a character (or bizarre) from another culture or a different country. Not a boring day!

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Make friends with your bank account. Something unexpected to do with funds, cash flow, taxes, debt, shared property, inheritances or whatever you own jointly with others will probably have a few surprises for you today. (Gulp.) Keep your eyes peeled.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Be prepared to go more than halfway when dealing with others today because the Moon is directly opposite your sign. Furthermore, stay light on your feet because people are unpredictable today; and frankly, this includes you. Someone might say the most bizarre thing to you that knocks you for a loop. (Whaaat?)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Interruptions to your work routine are de rigueur today. Computer crashes, power outages, staff shortages, cancelled meetings and goofy mistakes are par for the course. Accept this as the day begins and you won't be so disappointed. Just chalk it up to one of those days. ("To the moon, Alice!")

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Parents should be extra vigilant with their children today because this is an accident-prone day for your kids. Fortunately, this is a mild influence. Artists and those of you working on creative projects might come up with surprising, genius-like ideas. (Expect surprises in sports as well.)

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Minor appliances might break down today. You might run out of something. ("No coffee?!") Something unexpected will send your domestic routine south in a New York minute. Stock the fridge. Surprise company might drop by. (Even if they don't eat - you'll need to afterwards.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You're full of bright, original ideas today. (Very easy to think out of the box.) Nevertheless, delays, confusion and mixed up communications could be a bit of a trial. Guard against minor accidents and transportation breakdowns.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Keep an eye out for your cash flow scene and your money today. For example, you might find money or a possession you misplaced, or you might lose money or something you own. It's a crapshoot. Guard against impulse spending as well.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Today is full of all kinds of unpredictable little happenings. You can almost sense it. Even you feel a bit edgy and nervous, although you might have a strong degree of anticipation about something. Be careful about doing something you might later regret. (Forewarned is forearmed.)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This might not be an easy day to relax. Too much going on, in addition to which, you feel restless for some reason. Not to worry -- it's just what's happening with the Moon today and how it affects your particular sign. You might want to run away to join the circus.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Female friends and acquaintances are unpredictable today. This will likely be most apparent in group situations, whether small meetings or large. However, whatever happens could nudge you to slightly change your goals in a new direction. (Could be liberating.)

If Your Birthday Is Today

Guitarist Ry Cooder (1947) shares your birthday today. You're charismatic; people like you. You work hard to get what you want and you generally succeed. (You love the challenge.) Because you are goal-driven, it's important to define your goals. You love to initiate new things and often bring others together. In the year ahead, a major change might occur, perhaps something as significant as what took place around 2003.
