Hi Georgia,
Just read your column about the Libra full moon this week. I have a big exam for med school on Tuesday night. Different than your usual pen-and-paper style; this one is interactive and essentially mimics patient visits in a doctor's office. Very interpersonal! Any tips on things to watch out for or ways to prepare myself, with this full moon winking down at me?
Thanks!! Love the column, as always!
S. (Libra with Moon in Aquarius and Pisces Rising)
Dear S.
Thanks for your note. I am surprised you are in Med school with Pisces Rising... you are very susceptible to being upset at the suffering and pain of others. I don't think you could ever work in a burn unit ... but I guess you know all this.
As to dealing with the Full Moon in your sign this week - and this might sound weird - but I don't know if you have heard of the Bach Floral remedies? They were developed in the 30s in the UK by a physician and homeopath. They are now sold for humans as well. (This is off the top of my head so I might be inaccurate here.)
Well, there is something called Rescue Remedy. If I were you I would buy some asap (most health food stores) and take it every day this week. Starting now.
You won't notice a difference - but others will. It takes the edge off any emotional aggression or untoward responses to others that this Full Moon might give you.
And I can tell you flat out that it works. Years ago, when it was first prescribed for me by a medical guru I used to like, I thought it didn't work and so I dismissed it later. However, when my daughter was pregnant, her midwife prescribed it for her and her husband; and I decided to take it again as well. And I know for a fact that my reaction to something at that time was mitigated in a positive way because I had this stuff in my system. Something happened that normally would have given me a reaction of "AAGGHH!!!" -but instead I had a reaction of just "agh!" And I thought to myself, "Wow, this Rescue Remedy actually works!"
I later recommended it to my builder when he was building my house; and he thought it worked as well.
Get some as soon as possible. It certainly cannot harm you. You could give it to a baby. It is tincture of Rock Rose, Impatiens, Clematis, Star of Bethlehem, and Cherry Plum. I have seen it advertised as "Yoga in a bottle."
BTW - I just have to say this to you: you've given me a real chuckle today. My above response was immediate and genuine. But after I wrote it, I thought - "This is as close as I will ever get to giving a prescription to a doctor!" Hee hee.
Good luck in your exam. I know you're going to be a fine medical professional. Steer clear of the aspects of medicine where suffering is intense.
All good things,
Love
Georgia
